The Razor Wire is a quarterly newsletter published out of the California Institution for Women. It was founded in December 2023 to share the stories of the CIW community and is committed to giving voice to their entire population and covering topics that matter.

Paige Linville, Editor in Chief
Paige Linville is an incarcerated journalist, activist, and founding editor of The Razor Wire at California Institution for Women. A Cal State LA honors graduate, she advocates for restorative justice and policy reform through storytelling and peer education. Paige mentors incarcerated women and uses multimedia journalism to amplify healing, accountability, and human dignity.

Kinzie Gene Noordman, Managing Editor
Kinzie Gene Noordman is a writer, educator, and co-founder of CIW The Razor Wire. She holds a master’s degree in Humanities from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a focus on punishment and prison abolition. Since 2003, she has published poetry and prose centered on transformation, restorative justice, and amplifying incarcerated voices through storytelling and advocacy.

Aimee Gana, Senior Editor
Aimee Gana is a writer, artist, and cancer survivor dedicated to reforming the carceral system through personal storytelling. A mother of two and former Olympian, she holds degrees in Sociology, Communications, and Communication Arts. Despite hearing impairment and English being her second language, Aimee uses journalism and creative expression to advocate for resilience, dignity, and change.

Grace Coleman, Associate Editor
Grace Coleman is a creative writer focused on personal transformation, wellness, and recovery. Through honest and reflective storytelling, she explores healing, accountability, and hope while encouraging positive change for women impacted by incarceration. Writing serves as both her creative outlet and a tool for empowerment, allowing her to share stories rooted in growth, resilience, and renewal.
